Habit : A large tree upto 5m tall.

Description-evergreen tree, bark 6-8mm thick, palebrown,rough,blaze dull red,exudation milky caustic,black on dying,young shoot brown tomentose.Leaves simple,alternate,crowded at the tips of branchlets,estipulate,petiole 7-15 mm ,stout tomentose,spur 1-2 pair,deciduous,lamina8-25 2.5-7.5cm oblanceolate,base cuneate,apexacute,marginentire,glabrous,coriaceous,lateralnerves10to20pairs,parallel, prominent,intercostate,reticulate,prominent. Flowers polygamous,yellowish-brown,2-3mm across panicles,tomentose,pale golden brown,calyx 5,petals 5 cohering at the base stamens5,inserted,outside thedisc, filaments subulate,anthersred,versatile,ovaryinferior,1-celled,ovulependulous,style 3,divergent,stigma capitate. fruit is drupe.
