Bougainvillea glabra(paperflower) is an evergreen vigorous climbing shrub with thorny stems.. It usually grows 3-4m (10-12feet) tall, occasionally up to 9m (30 feet). Tiny white flowers usually appear in clusters surrounded by colorful papery bracts, hence the name paperflower. The bracts appear in clusters of 10 to 20. Bouganvillea glabra - sometimes known as the paper plant - needs a trellis or pillar to climb on, plenty of water and monthly feeding, during the growing season. It benefits from some humidity in summer and autumn when the flowers are in bud.
